Kate McGloughlin’s reverence for land and waterscapes reach far beyond her beloved familial homeland. Her plein air paintings of Monhegan Island, like the image above, reveal a striking dynamism of moving, tumultuous water crashing against solid, unmoving rocks. Be it the Ashokan Reservoir near her home, the cliffs of Monhegan in Maine or the landscapes of Italy, Mexico or Ireland, the artist conveys our precious earth in a visceral, breathtaking, poignant way.

Dawn Watson is a hunter-gatherer of images and creator of still life that hearkens back to the work of Dutch masters. The artist considers photography her moving mantra. Nature serves as her muse, her subject of concern, a source of solace and healing.
