Chris Magadini lives in Croton-on-Hudson New York and spends summers in the Adirondacks. The artist has lived all over the United States. Born in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, he was raised in Palm Springs, California and also lived in Los Angeles where he graduated from The Art Center College of Design. Magadini also lived and worked in Arizona and pursued commercial illustration in Stockholm, Sweden. When he received a fellowship to Syracuse University, he returned to New York to earn a M.F.A. degree.
