Artist Statement

I see the world as shapes; light and dark, bright and dull, large and small. As a painter, I see these shapes as pieces of color. My job as a painter is to capture the energy of the sight and to push through the problems inherent to the craft of painting. I manipulate these pieces of color to make the transition from the actual world that surrounds us all to the world I create on canvas.

I have a need to paint. I am compelled to translate what I see and feel into my work. I know that this expression is necessary to my well being. I feel blessed to be given the time and opportunity to work at what I love.
